Waterford — The Waterford High School baseball team rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and defeated Montville Wednesday, 5-4, in a nonleague game.
Dan Santos' RBI double tied the game for Waterford (5-3) and Matt Irvine singled in Santos to give his team the lead.
Corey Wilcox's two-run single in the seventh got Montville (6-3) within a run, but Max Hart flied out to right to end it.
Santos finished 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for the Lancers while Irvine and Kyle Willoughby each had two hits.
Jason Dargie picked up his second win of the season, pitching a complete game.
In other games:
• Zach Wood hit a three-run home run and finished 3-for-4 with four RBI with four runs in Griswold's 10-3 win over St. Bernard in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division. A.J. Openchofski had three hits, two RBI and two runs and Tim Martinek had two hits and three RBI for Griswold (3-5, 2-0). Brett Rankowitz and Dan Arundel had two hits apiece for the Saints (4-4, 2-2).
• Reynaldo Sierra allowed four hits over six innings and New London defeated Westhill of Stamford, 4-1. Matt Greene had three hits and two stolen bases for the Whalers (4-4) and Edgard Santiago went 2-for-2.
• East Hampton scored four times in the third inning and hung on to defeat Old Lyme, 5-4, in the Shoreline Conference. Charlie Peck had two hits and two RBI for Old Lyme (4-6) and Nick Bellas added two hits.
• Kevin Radziewicz went 2-for-3, including a double, with three RBI as Cromwell beat Old Saybrook, 9-3, in the Shoreline. Joe Ferrantelli went 3-for-3, including a double, with an RBI for Old Saybrook (7-3).
Boys' golf
• Joey Barile was the medalist, shooting a 4-over 41, leading Griswold past Tourtellotte, 6.5-.5, in the ECC Small. The Wolverines are 4-1, 2-1.
• Montville beat Fitch 5-2 in a nonleague match. Albrianna Farnum, who shot a 3-over-par-36 for Fitch, was the medalist.
In a match Tuesday, Fitch lost to East Lyme, 5.5-1.5, in the ECC Large. Farnum was the medalist with a 41.
• St. Bernard's Francis Bove (40) earned medalist honors, but Wheeler won the ECC Small Division match, 4-3, taking the medal point, 196-198. Dylan Rapoport had a 43 to win at No. 1 for the Lions (2-2, 1-2). The Saints are 0-5, 0-3.
• Teammates Jack Ayers and J.T. Giegerich shared medalist honors at 41, leading Old Saybrook over Coginchaug, 178-182, in a Shoreline match. Old Saybrook is 3-0, 3-0.
Girls' golf
• Olivia Carignan shot a team-low 46 and Brittany Lewitz had a 51, pacing Norwich Free Academy past Middletown, 203-232, at Portland West. The Wildcats are 2-0.
Boys' lacrosse
• Tyler Kiener had four goals and Sam Wensinger and Oleg Deyle both had two goals to lead St. Thomas More past Williams, 10-7. T-More is 5-0. Joab Hunt had three goals for the Blues.
Girls' lacrosse
• Katie Comerford had three goals and two assists in Old Lyme's 20-7 loss to North Branford in the Shoreline. Kristin Cathcart had two goals for Old Lyme (2-2-1, 2-1).
Girls' track and field
• Rachel Merry won three events (long jump, triple jump, high jump) and East Lyme won every field event in defeating Fitch, 97-53, in the ECC Large. Cheslea Stevens (100, 200) and Amy Gonsalves (shot put, discus) were all double-winners for the Vikings (4-1, 2-1). Dyshelle Pemberton (300 hurdles) and Brandy LeClair (3,200) each won an individual event and were on one two winning relay teams for Fitch (3-1, 1-1).
Boys' track and field
• Anthony Facchini won three events (shot put, long jump, triple jump) and NFA stayed unbeaten with a 107-38 win over Waterford in the ECC Large. Vos Hunter won the 400 and was on the winning 4x400 relay team for NFA (5-0, 3-0). Chris Jones (100, 200) and Anthony Farrell (1,600, 3,200) won two events apiece for the Lancers (0-2, 0-2).
