Howdy,
So Russia had 33 more rebounds than Turkey did in Sunday's FIBA EuroBasket Women's final.
Guess who won?
Maria Stepanova had 18 points and 12 rebounds as Russia dominated Turkey, 59-42, and clinched a berth in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Russia outrebounded Turkey, 52-19.
Let's repeat — Russia had THIRTY THREE more rebounds than Turkey.
Pretty sure that defies physics.
Russian guard Elena Danilochkina was named tournament MVP as she put on a redonkulous shooting performance. She shot 51.9-percent from the field, including making 18 of 33 3-pointers. She averaged a team-high 13.9 points.
Connecticut Sun forward Sandrine Gruda had a game-high 26 points with six rebounds and four assists to lead France past the Czech Republic, 63-56.
Gruda averaged 13.4 points and 6.2 points for France, the defending EuroBasket champion. Les Bleus also earned a spot in next year's Olympic qualification tournament.
Vaya con dios….
