The 47th annual North Stonington Agricultural Fair kicks off Thursday afternoon and the buzz is back in town.
I went out to the grounds yesterday and volunteers were hard at work painting, replacing bleacher benches, mowing grass and setting up stands and exhibits. It is that time of year again, and the No Sto fair kicks it off for the whole state.
Fair president Mike Riley Sr. said in addition to all the usual fun, he's booked nationally-renowned country artist Sean Patrick McGraw for Saturday night's entertainment.
The weather forecast looks good as well, with only a possibility of thunderstorms Friday but otherwise relatively clear.
Thursday opens up at 5 p.m. with the CT Tractor Pull, rides, sheep fitting and spinning demo, the St. Hubert's Dog Club Demo and the popular Fair Queen Contest. Local country rock band Branded will perform twice as well.
