Norwich officials might be glad that the new Chiller film “Remains,” shot in Norwich, is supposed to be Reno.
The trailer for the Chiller Network’s first original film can be seen at www.chillertv.com.
The fast-paced one minute video starts calmly enough with an interior shot of the casino – the Mystic Ramada – and then turns quickly with the words “This town is dead” printed on the screen. “Really dead,” it adds for emphasis as zombies chase the few human survivors through debris-strewn city streets. Then comes “This… town … will … eat … you … alive.”
I know I recognized the Thayer building on Franklin Street and there’s a parking garage and some micro-second shots of buildings and streets that might be familiar.
Of course if anyone I knew got to play an extra in the movie, I wouldn’t know it. The zombies are truly scary with brilliant makeup.
The movie is scheduled to premiere this fall. Maybe by then, Comcast will carry the Chiller network.
