Party grrrrl Kesha gets fired up at Mohegan Sun

Usually, a pop star is well into a tour before things go up in flames.

But there was Ke$ha, on the first night of the summer leg of her tour last week, when a lighting rig got all fired up, literally.

The singer tweeted, "FIRST NIGHT OF TOUR AND THE PLACE CATCHES ON FIRE. THIS TOUR IS BEYOND.WORDS.ILL."

Ke$ha doesn't let a little thing like flames stop her, and she's still on her "Get Sleazy" tour, bringing it to the Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday.

Having seen Ke$ha open for Rihanna at the Sun last year, I can tell you she puts on a fun romp of a show. This is a girl who does not take herself seriously.

And she's got more material now, thanks to "Cannibal," the follow-up to her platinum-selling "Animal" CD. Her set list can now get filled out with songs like "We R Who We R," joining her earlier radio staples "TiK ToK," "Take It Off" and "Your Love Is My Drug." ("TiK ToK," by the way, was the best-selling digital track of 2010.)
