Edgar Fontaine died in June at age 86, but his son, Dean, is hoping to honor his father's legacy with one final Jack-O'-Lantern Castle display.
It's a big process, though, and Dean says this year's pumpkin crop was underwhelming.
That's where you come in.
Edgar's neighbor, Charlotte Geer, will host a pumpkin carving get together at her home on the weekend of Oct. 22-23. The date and times aren't finalized, Geer said, but she wants people to come over and participate in this Griswold tradition that she hopes will live on.
Those who'd like to participate need to bring their own pumpkins and carving tools. Geer will supply the space at her home and Dean will pick up the carved pumpkins and bring them to the castle, where they'll be placed. The display will run during the following week.
For more information, you can contact Geer at 860-884-0936.
Have you been to the Fontaine's display before? Have a favorite memory?
