New London - "Someday We'll Laugh About This ... Humor in Parenting, Teaching and Life," will be the subject of a talk by Joel Goodman at 7 p.m. Monday at the Garde Arts Center.
The free, public event is sponsored by the regional Community Coalition for Children … Helping Children Thrive and is designed for parents, educators and community leaders. Simultaneous translation in Spanish and sign language will be provided. To register for free child care on site, please call (860) 444-4790.
Goodman is author of "Laffirmations" and founder and director of The HUMOR Project Inc. in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He says whenever we start to lose perspective and our sense of humor, we need to say to ourselves, "I won't know the difference 100 years from now."
From 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Crozier-Williams Center at Connecticut College, Goodman will open an intergenerational workshop for students and adults, "The Serious Side of Humor." This workshop is structured for small-group activity for participants from regional middle schools and high schools. For more information, visit www.communitycoalitionforchildren.org.
