North Stonington — The driver of a tractor-trailer that crashed on I-95 northbound this afternoon was treated and released from Rhode Island Hospital after the accident.
Police charged Ronald J. Lemoi, of Port Charlotte, Fla., with traveling too fast for conditions and failure to maintain lane.
Traffic was snarled on I-95 northbound for hours after the crash.
State police said the tractor-trailer was headed southbound on I-95 near exit 93 around 3:30 p.m. when it lost control and traveled through the median, destroying a metal beam guardrail and crossing northbound traffic lanes where the vehicle came to a rest against the northbound shoulder guardrail.
