Several local musicians will perform as part of an international network of artists who each October contribute to the Daniel Pearl World Music Days concert series. Pearl was a music-loving journalist who was kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002, and a foundation created in his name uses the power of music to promote tolerance.
Maggie's Guitar, Amalgamated Muck and Bernadette Golden and Golden Ratio are among regional acts who will play Friday at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in New London.
The show is one of thousands in more than 100 countries that will take place this month under the Pearl banner. In keeping with the wishes of the Daniel Pearl Foundation, the performance is free.
