Bristol, R.I. - The Roger Williams men's basketball team erased a 10-point deficit, rallying to beat Coast Guard 76-74 in a nonleague game Thursday night.
David Anderson led Coast Guard (5-3) with 19 points and eight rebounds, Kevin Sowers had 14 points, Trip Fernandes scored 10 and Devonte Weems had seven assists. Matt Grossbard led Roger Williams (3-3) with 24 points.
In other games:
• Quinsigamond Community College beat UConn-Avery Point, 75-49. Philkwan Tate scored 21 points and Jevon Williams had 10 points for Avery Point (1-9).
Women's basketball
• Smith College scored the final 10 points of the game, pulling away for a 57-42 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference game. Kaitlin Ward scored a game-high 19 points and Alexi Howland had eight rebounds for Coast Guard (4-4, 0-4). Ellie Giles had 14 points and seven rebounds for Smith (7-1, 3-1).
Girls' basketball
• Devin Hill had a game-high 20 points to lead Killingly past New London, 46-42, in the season-opener for both teams. Jamie LeDuc scored 10 for Killingly. Deanna McCarvill scored 16 for the Whalers.
• Gabbie Holness had 17 points to lead Pomperaug of Southbury past Norwich Free Academy, 59-45, at the Masuk Tipoff Tournament. Lauren Baranowski scored 13 for Pomperaug. Olivia Lane had 11 points for the Wildcats and Olivia Marks added 10 points.
Boys' basketball
• Allante Crocker had 18 points and six assists, helping to lead St. Thomas More to a 57-47 win over St. Andrew's in a SENE game. Colin Roberts had 11 points, five rebounds and three steals, Qudeer Morgan had 10 rebounds and nine points and Jason Choi had eight rebounds for T-More (2-2, 2-0).
