Senior defensive tackle Kendall Reyes was named UConn's Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year during the Huskies' annual football dinner Sunday night.
Reyes, a two-time All-Big East first team pick, started 42 games during his UConn career and finished with 31.5 tackles for a loss.
Freshman tailback Lyle McCombs, who rushed for 1,115 yards, was named Offensive Player of the Year while senior kicker Dave Teggart, a two-time All-Big East first team pick, was named Special Teams Player of the Year. Teggart leaves with UConn career records in field goals (74), extra points (128) and total points (349).
Other award winners were: senior wide receiver Kashi Moore (Jasper T. Howard Play-Every-Play Award), senior defensive tackle Twyon Martin (Brian Kozlowski Award), junior defensive end Trevardo Williams (Kendall Madison Award), junior linebacker Jory Johnson (Football Alumni Award), senior safety Harris Agbor (John L. Toner Scholar-Athlete Award) and junior quarterback Johnny McEntee (Joseph M. Giannelli Unsung Hero Award).
