WHO: Cindy, 31, and her two children, Jane, 5 and Steven, 3.

AGENCY: Westerly Area Rest Meals Inc., an agency that provides shelter and meals to homeless people in conjunction with local churches.

THEIR SITUATION: In October, Cindy and her two children lost their house in a fire and all of their belongings were destroyed. Cindy currently works but often has to take time off in order to care for her mother who is battling cancer. Cindy and her family currently reside in an emergency apartment with the WARM Center's Harvest Home program, which provides nine apartments in Westerly to homeless families while promoting self sufficiency.

WHAT TO GIVE: Cindy is having a hard time keeping her car on the road as it needs major repairs such as brakes and ignition parts. Donations to help pay for those repairs as well as gift cards and gas cards are needed.

TO DONATE: Contact Russell Partridge, program director at the WARM Center, 56 Spruce St., Westerly, RI, 02891 or (401) 596-9276.
