Stocking the Shelves with $5,000

At a time when food pantries were in critical need to stock their shelves, Guilford Savings Bank donated $5,000 to five local food pantries just three days before the Christmas holiday.

"We had been hearing that the need was greater than ever this year," said Executive Vice President Tim Geelan. "We hope this helps the food banks purchase whatever they need to help the families they serve."

One thousand dollars was donated to each of the following organizations at a check presentation on Dec. 21: Branford Food Council, Community Dining Room of Branford, Guilford Food Bank, Madison Community Services, and Estuary Council of Seniors of Old Saybrook.
