From May 10 to 19, the Florence Griswold Museum offers "The Art and Architecture of the Italian Masters," a guided barge tour of Northern Italy from Mantua to Venice. Guests on the eight-night voyage will travel on the "Ave Marie," a newly built, custom-designed barge, with Florence Griswold Museum Director Jeffrey Andersen and the crew of International Barging Tours of Essex. The itinerary includes excursions to historic sites and museums in the cities of Cremona, Mantua, Verona, Vicenza, Ferrara, Padua and Venice. The small group will explore museums, frescoed villas and palaces, and renowned collections featuring artists of the Venetian and Ferrarese schools of painting.
