Singer/songwriter Chuck E. Costa to Present A Songwriting Workshop for Kids and an All-Ages Concert at First Congregational Church of Guilford January 28th

At 9:30 am and 4:00 pm

SONGWRITING WORKSHOP—9:30 am – 11:30 am Grades 2-5

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Chuck E. Costa will be leading a songwriting workshop designed to inspire students to engage in the creative process while giving them a chance to create music by learning the basic elements of simply “making up” songs. The aim of the workshop is to help channel students’ everyday creative impulses that promotes self-awareness, self confidence while enhancing critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Chuck will guide the students through the songwriting process from the creation of an original idea to a finished song. Finding themselves in an open, non-competitive and risk free environment, participants will see their creativity flourish through teamwork and collaboration.

ALL AGES CONCERT--- 4:00 pm

Connecticut State Troubadour & Folk Artist Chuck E. Costa will perform an All Ages Concert featuring well-crafted contemporary folk tunes. Chuck’s candid and visceral delivery of songs from his four albums will showcase his unique and honest voice. After earning a degree in philosophy in Boulder, CO, Chuck, a native New Yorker, returned to the Northeast and has steadily raised his profile on the national club, coffeehouse and festival circuits.

Called “Sensitive, introspective…inspired” by The New York Times, Chuck embraces the title “Modern Day Troubadour”. The first track from Chuck’s latest release, “Where the Songs Come From” was selected to be featured on a compilation album, available in every Starbucks in North America.

Chuck will appear at First Congregational Church as a part of “A Joyful Noise! Concert Series”.
