There's a great deal of prestige in being an associate artist at the Lyme Art Association. These are not Post-It note phone-call doodles or pen sketches on cocktail napkins, after all. The Lyme Art Association is a treasure; a regional creative entity - and so it's always fun and dazzling, each winter, when LAA proudly shows off its own. The "20th Annual Associate Art Exhibition" opens Friday in the association's Cooper/Ferry, South and Cole galleries. The varied works feature landscape, portrait and still life paintings such as Jaclyn Conley's "You Make Me Feel Stupid" (above).
The show runs through Feb. 25, and there will be an artists' reception on Jan. 20 at the gallery at 90 Lyme St., Old Lyme. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tues.-Sat. and 1-5 p.m. Sun.; (860) 434-7802, lymeartassociation.org.
The reader web chat with Mitchell Etess, Chief Executive Officer of the Mohegan Gaming Authority, was held on Thursday, May 24.
