Driver Trapped Inside Overturned Tractor Trailer

The driver of a tractor trailer was trapped inside the vehicle after it flipped onto its side in Guilford at approximately 1:40 p.m. today.

According to reports from Guilford emergency responders the truck overturned when it exited I-95 North at exit 57, blocking the lane of the exit ramp. Exit 57 North has been closed.

The driver is reported to be conscious with life threatening injuries. He was transported to Yale-New Haven hospital.

Police, firefighters, and paramedics are on the scene.
