The New York Times has an interesting story about UConn freshman Ryan Boatright's situation.
The story details the NCAA's issues with Boatright and his mother Tanesha and the family's relationship with AAU coach Reggie Rose.
The NCAA is reviewing Boatright's eligibility for the second time this season. He stayed on campus today when UConn left for Knoxville where it will play Tennessee Saturday. He'll miss his third straight game.
Last fall, Boatright was suspended for the first six games for receiving an improper benefit.
According to the Times, Tanesha -- not Ryan -- accepted money from Rose to pay for an airline ticket so she could make a recruiting trip with her son. An ex-boyfriend told the NCAA and reportedly called the organization again with additional information before the Notre Dame game last Saturday, leading to the latest issue.
Boatright is sidelined indefinitely.
