Take a break from watching the complete "Saw" video collection and don't read anything about crime/drug epidemics in our urban centers. Instead, let's think GOOD. In that spirit, why not investigate a new show, "Opening to Good - An Exhibit Highlighting the Good That is All Around Us," going up simultaneously at the Custom House Museum and Provenance Center in New London.
The opening reception takes place in both sites on Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m., followed by an after-party dance in the center with Bill Fischer. The exhibit features hundreds of "gratitude postcards," solicited from citizens by project organizer Anne Kubitsky, illustrating things they're thankful for. Exhibit runs through Feb. 25. Hours 2-5:30 p.m. Wed.-Thurs. at Provenance Center, 165 State St., New London, (860) 405-5887. Hours 1-5 p.m. Thurs.-Sun at Custom House Maritime Museum, 150 Bank St., New London, (860) 447-2501.
The reader web chat with Mitchell Etess, Chief Executive Officer of the Mohegan Gaming Authority, was held on Thursday, May 24.
