Salem — The town has been selected for a risk management achievement award by the Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency.

The town was selected for its work in the category of establishing risk management as an organizational priority. According to a CIRMA news release, as a result of the risk management efforts and initiatives, the town has reduced lost work days from 95 in 2005-2006 to zero in 2010-2011.

Award recipients will be announced at CIRMA’s annual meeting on Jan. 27 and the list of award recipients will be included in the 2010-11 CIRMA annual report. Awards will be presented to recipients at the CIRMA Risk Management Achievement Awards celebration, which will held on Friday, May 18.

CIRMA was established in 1980 as a service program for the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities. It is the state’s leading provider of municipal risk financing and risk management services.
