UConn blue, white and platinum?

The UConn blue and white will occasionally be supplemented with Nike's "Hyper Elite Platinum" uniforms for the men's and women's basketball teams.

The men will wear theirs Sunday in the game against Notre Dame and the women will follow suit on Feb. 27 when they play the Irish.

According to a press release from Phil Chardis, UConn's assistant director in athletic communications, UConn is the first team in the country to wear the uniforms in game action.

Next month, they'll be worn by others: Arizona, Duke, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina and Syracuse with the men. The Baylor women have allegedly agreed to try them on for size.
