Branford police detectives spent today’s early morning hours actively investigating a carjacking that occurred late Jan. 25 at the Oakwoods Condominiums on Briarwood Lane.
Patrol officers responded to an E-911 call just after 9:25 p.m. from the acquaintance of the victim who said that her boyfriend had just been assaulted in the parking area of their complex as he arrived home. She said that the assailants, who were armed with handguns, fled in the victim’s vehicle after the assault.
As patrol officers arrived, they located the victim’s car abandoned by the intersection of Briarwood Lane and Alps Road.
The victim, who was transported to an area medical facility for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, described his assailants as black males who were driving a black Mercedes Benz.
