Tyler tells her story tonight on 20/20

The story of Nancy Tyler's kidnapping at the hands of her ex-husband will be featured tonight on ABC's 20/20.

"Taken: 12 Hours of Terror Caught on Tape," airs at 10 p.m. News anchor Robin Roberts will report on the couple's rocky marriage, bitter divorce and the July 2009 hostage ordeal. Tyler, her children and others were interviewed for tonight's broadcast. Day reporter Karen Florin, who received four phone calls from Shenkman while he was holding Tyler hostage, also was interviewed.

Shenkman was convicted of kidnapping Tyler at gunpoint from a Hartford parking garage and holding her hostage at his home in South Windsor. Tyler escaped before he torched the house and testified against him at his trial last fall in Hartford Superior Court. He was sentenced to 70 years in prison.
