A father and son from Preston were charged Friday for their role in allegedly robbing six convenience stores starting in early November.
Frederick Barberi, 52, and Jason Barberi, 28, both of 244 Route 164, were each charged with four counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of fourth-degree larceny, two counts of six-degree larceny, four counts of threatening and third-degree assault.
Police said the pair robbed several stores on six consecutive days starting on Nov. 5. The first robbery occurred at the Henny Penny in Stonington, the second at the Preston Mobil, the third at the BP Gas Station in Franklin, the fourth at the 7-11 in Norwich, the fifth at the Henny Penny in Groton and the sixth at the 7-11 in Plainfield.
Both men are being held on $500,000 bonds.
The Eastern District Major Crime Squad, Norwich, Groton Town and Stonington police departments investigated the robberies.
The Barberis were already in jail for allegedly robbing a Baltic Cumberland Farm on Nov. 11.
