H.S. girls' basketball: McLaughlin scores 22 for Bacon Academy, as Bobcats keep pace in Large Division

Colchester - Taylor McLaughlin had 22 points, 13 rebounds and six assists to lead the Bacon Academy girls' basketball team to a 72-31 win over Fitch in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division.

That victory keeps Bacon tied with East Lyme in the Large Division pending Tuesday's matchup between the teams in Colchester.

McLaughlin scored 14 of her points in the first quarter when the Bobcats (13-2, 6-1) opened a 22-8 lead. Michaela Siver added 12 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots for Bacon and Jackie LaSaracina had career highs of nine points and seven rebounds.

Aunisha Dillon scored 11 points for Fitch (7-8, 1-6).

In other games:

• Hannah Behringer had 11 points and 12 rebounds, leading Old Lyme to a 39-30 win over Valley Regional. Jordan Buscetto scored 10 for Old Lyme (5-11) and Behringer helped seal the win with a 7-for-10 performance from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.

• Chelsey Hussey scored 21 points to lead Lyman Memorial to a 57-32 win over Tourtellotte in the ECC Small Division. Emily Peay had 10 points, seven rebounds and eight steals and Emily Von Edwins scored nine with eight rebounds for Lyman (9-6, 5-1).

• Alyssa Velles scored 15 points to help lead NFA to a 64-39 win over New London in an ECC Large Division game. Olivia Lane had 14 points and Olivia Marks scored 13 for NFA (9-7, 5-2). Deanna McCarvill scored 18 and Tamia DeBarros had seven points for New London (2-12, 0-7).

• Michelle Lagrotteria and Jenna Schumacher scored 11 points each to lead East Lyme to a 52-31 win over Woodstock Academy in an ECC Large Division game. East Lyme (11-3, 6-1) led 34-17 at halftime.

• Kylie Fustini scored 13 points and had nine rebounds to help lead Ledyard to a 44-27 win over Stonington in an ECC Medium Division game. Olivia DelGrosso scored 14 and Katie Duplice had 10 rebounds for Ledyard (11-3, 5-2), which outrebounded Stonington (7-9, 2-5) 35-15.

• Casey Sullivan and Katelyn Berkel combined for 26 points in the first half en route to a 47-31 victory over Wheeler in the ECC Small Division. St. Bernard led 37-13 at halftime. Sullivan finished with 20 points and Berkel 13 for the Saints (10-6, 4-2). Summer Cipriani had 10 points and eight rebounds for Wheeler (2-12, 1-5).

• Kara Thibodeau scored 23 points to lead Windham Tech to a 50-20 win over Norwich Tech in a Constitution State Conference East Division game. Tyra Wolchesky led Norwich Tech (3-11, 1-10) with 11 points.

• Hartford Capital beat Grasso Tech 59-7 in a CSC game. Miranda Murray scored five points for Grasso (0-15).
