Entrepreneur Roxanne Coady announced this morning that her iconic independent Madison bookstore R.J. Julia is for sale.
Stating, "This is not an end for R.J. Julia, but simply a new beginning" and that the "store will not close," Coady addressed her customers in a Facebook-linked blog posting.
In her note, she reflected on her 22 years in business, the effect of Amazon on the independent bookseller, and her hope for finding "the right hands" for the business.
Donna Paz Kaufman, founder of the Bookstore Training Group of Paz & Associates, will handle the sale. Paz Kaufman can be reached at 904-277-2664 or dpaz@pazbookbiz.com.
