Westerly — National Grid’s website indicates 30 customers remain in the dark in southern Rhode Island, including 19 in Westerly. The company reported more than 1,300 at about 10 a.m.
The outages were attributed to a damaged transformer. All National Grid customers are expected to be back in service by 1:45 p.m. Monday.
In Connecticut, 830 Pawcatuck and Stonington customers were also without power for about an hour, said Connecticut Light & Power spokesman Mitch Gross. He said there had been a problem with a transmission line connecting Connecticut to Rhode Island. Gross said all of CL&P’s customers were back in service as of 11:45 a.m.
The reader web chat with Mitchell Etess, Chief Executive Officer of the Mohegan Gaming Authority, was held on Thursday, May 24.
