With their approval last month of a $14 million bonding package, one of the improvements North Haven residents will soon see is the paving and milling of town roadways. But first, the roads which will receive attention the soonest need to be identified.
So if residents soon see a truck with a video camera traveling down their street, First Selectman Michael Freda assured them not to worry. The South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG) is working on a priority list of roadways for the town so Public Works will know the order in which roads should be milled and paved.
Freda, who said North Haven Police are aware of the truck and video camera, added that Public Works is awaiting the results of the SCRCOG pavement condition study and will build its plan of action from those results.
At last week's Board of Selectmen meeting, Freda said a plan will be developed to pave more than six miles of roadways per year over the next four years.
"When completed, it will likely address as many as 50 to 75 roadways in town," he said.
