It's true that fine art over the ages has been clustered with "...isms," from Realism and Neo-classicism to Impressionism and Tonalism to Romanticism and Cavemen-Drawing-On-Cave-Walls-ism.
As an introductory and comprehensive overview of all of these, "... isms: Unlocking Art's Mysteries" is a terrific opportunity for novice art fans and veterans alike.
The show opens Friday at the Florence Griswold Museum and includes 100 works of American art and culture from the 18th to the 21st centuries - and it thoroughly explains a variety of art movements and styles.
