Montville — The Town Council will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. Monday at the Town Hall to hear public comment and questions regarding a proposed ordinance that would give more authority to the Water and Sewer Commission.
The proposal makes amendments to existing ordinances and would grant the commission the Town Council’s authority to enter into employment contracts with Water and Sewer Department employees. It also would give the commission final approval of the Water and Sewer Departments’ annual budgets.
There also will be a public hearing at 6:45 p.m. at the Town Hall on a proposed ordinance that would amend current voting districts in the town. The proposed changes are in accordance with the state’s redistricting plan.
Copies of both ordinances are available at the Town Clerk’s office and are posted on the town website (www.townofmontville.org).
The reader web chat with Mitchell Etess, Chief Executive Officer of the Mohegan Gaming Authority, was held on Thursday, May 24.
