In an obituary here today we learn that Joseph Kushner, a native of New London and a former town councilor in Groton, who passed away Sunday, at 97, continued to play the violin all his life. He once played with the Eastern Connectiut Symphony Orchestra. And he kept on playing through his 90s.
He later enjoyed gathering with friends to play chamber music, which he continued to do until the age of 97. He was known as JoJo to his great-grandchildren and loved playing violin duets with Sarah, Ethan, and Olivia.
I'll be it's something they will remember all their lives.
Anthony Cronin writes here today about a continuing tradition on Bank Street. Barry Levinson is retiring from his Roberts Audio Video company downtown, but the store will thankfully stay open with a new owner, continuing a business that began in 1934.
