No. 3 UConn travels to Oklahoma today for final nonleague matchup

UConn has one more nonleague game today at Oklahoma (9 p.m., ESPN) before it can get down to the business of attempting to win the Big East Conference.

That goal became a bit more tangible Sunday when first-place Notre Dame lost to West Virginia, meaning that should UConn (23-2, 11-1) win its final four league games, it will win the championship outright.

After the Huskies return from Oklahoma (16-7), they play at home against St. John's, at Pittsburgh and Marquette and at home on the final day of the regular season against Notre Dame, in a nationally televised game in prime time.

UConn has won 11 straight since losing at Notre Dame on Jan. 7, with senior Tiffany Hayes leading the team in scoring at 15.6 points per game while shooting .536.

UConn is 9-0 against Oklahoma, including a 2-0 mark when playing the Sooners in Norman. The Huskies topped the Sooners 86-45 last season in Connecticut.

Oklahoma is led by 5-foot-7 sophomore guard Aaryn Ellenberg with 15.3 points per game.
