The Killingworth Library has migrated to a new automated system, leaving behind its outdated software and finally stepping into the 21st century. The new program, AGent VERSO, is designed and hosted by Auto-Graphics, a company dedicated to library software since 1950. VERSO ultimately streamlines the staff's work in cataloging and interlibrary loan and provides a number of interactive features for the library's patrons.
To get started with VERSO, visit the library's website www.killingworthlibrary.org; there is currently a link on the homepage and there will always be one on the card catalog page. When visitors open the program, they then login using their library barcode number and the password: userpass (they will be prompted to change that as they continue). Once they have signed into VERSO, patrons can access their accounts to renew items or place reserves; sign up for weekly email alerts; write reviews; and create personal bibliographies. From the Advanced Search screen, patrons can search the ReQuest online card catalog for statewide holdings and place interlibrary loans (detailed instructions are on the website's card catalog page-the old system of placing ILLs no longer works, but this one is easier).
