Salem — The Salem school district will be destroying special education records that are no longer needed by the school.

The records, which will be destroyed on June 1, include all inactive special education records of students with a date of birth of 1988 or earlier.

Records for special education students who graduated from high school or who have moved from the district six or more years ago will also be destroyed.

People who need a copy of their records for social security benefits or other reasons may obtain a copy of their file. They must call Cathy Wayne, administrative assistant, at (860) 859-3988.
