Loved your Feb. 8 article "Court rejects gay marriage ban," sending California's Proposition 8 to history's dustbin as the nation progresses toward a more just (really less unjust) world where people are free to choose their life partners. The idea, no less law, that government can tell us who we can spend our lives with unfairly denies equal rights to peaceful, loving, tax-paying same-sex couples. The couples want nothing more and nothing less than equal treatment.
With so much hate and war in this world, does it really make sense to expend our limited resources attacking love? Similar to each American having a unique sounding voice, Americans also have their own ideas and concepts of God.
The idea that same sex marriage violates the "vision of God" is pathetic nonsense to the 50 million (according to the USA Today estimate) atheists.
The reader web chat with Mitchell Etess, Chief Executive Officer of the Mohegan Gaming Authority, was held on Thursday, May 24.
Are you confident organizers will be able to raise enough money to hold OpSail 2012 in New London?
