Deep River - Sixth-seeded Old Saybrook High School, which upset No. 3 Portland in the quarterfinals of the Shoreline Conference girls' basketball tournament on Saturday night, plays No. 2 Cromwell in today's semifinals at Valley Regional.
The game tips at 5 p.m., while top-seeded Coginchaug plays No. 5 Hyde on New Haven in the other semifinal at 7. Tonight's winners advance to Friday's final, also at Valley, starting at 7 p.m.
Cromwell beat Old Saybrook in their only regular season meeting, 68-42 on Jan. 10.
H.S. hockey
• Joey Mitchell, Denzel Dickerson, Sean Hurley and Blake Biancamano each had a goal and an assist in St. Bernard-NFA-Bacon's 5-4 loss to Brookfield-Bethel-Danbury. St. Bernard is 11-7.
On Saturday, Biancamano had three goals and an assist, leading the Saints to a 5-1 win over Newtown. Mitchell and Kenny Brooks also scored and Jonah Beauton made 32 saves for St. Bernard.
College baseball
• UConn wrapped up play in the Big Ten/Big East Challenge, losing 9-5 to Ohio State Sunday in Clearwater, Fla.
Old Lyme's Ryan Fuller tripled, drove in a run and scored twice for UConn (1-2) and Tom Verdi and John Sulzicki each drove in two runs for the Huskies.
College softball
• UConn fell to Tennessee Tech, falling 9-7 at the Georgia Classic Sunday.
Mystic's Brittany Duclos singled, scored a run, drove in a run and stole a base and Waterford's Jen Ward drove in a run while Amy Vaughan hit a three-run homer for UConn (1-2).
