Tony Collins, Customer Service Manager at the East Lyme Stop & Shop, presented a check for $7600 to Care & Share from the Food for Friends fund raising efforts.

The check was received on behalf of Care & Share by the organization’s president, Angie McLean, on February 3, 2012 at the food pantry. The fundraiser was conducted during the winter holiday season, when Stop & Shop customers were able to donate $1 at the store’s checkouts to support Care & Share, and the store contributed $500 as matching funds. Food for Friends is a national program supported by Stop & Shop aimed at combating hunger in the local areas where the grocery store operates. Care & Share is fortunate and thankful for being the local recipient of such funds that will help struggling families in East Lyme and Salem.
