New London — All-American Kris Dunn scored 37 points and junior Keith Porter added 25 as top-seeded New London High School won the 2012 Eastern Connecticut Conference boys' basketball championship Friday night with a 93-64 victory over No. 6 Ledyard before a sellout crowd at Conway Gymnasium.
Dunn, the Providence College-bound guard, was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. He scored 20 points in the first quarter when the Whalers took control by opening a 28-7 lead.
Khary Childs scored 19 points for the Colonels, who upset No. 2 Waterford in the semifinals.
