Griswold - A New London man was arrested late Friday night after state police said he burglarized the Jewett City Flea Market and Jewett City Greenhouse within a matter of hours.

Andrew Harris, 30, of 19 Jay St., New London, was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny.

State police at approximately 11:37 p.m. responded to the Jewett City Flea Market at 2 Wedgewood Drive to investigate a burglary alarm. An arrest report said police found a smashed side door and signs of forced entry. An officer then found Harris leaving the building with a green duffle bag.

Police said an investigation revealed that Harris had burglarized the Jewett City Greenhouse, at 17 Ashland Street earlier that day.

Harris was held on $15,000 cash/surety bonds for each incident. He is scheduled to appear Monday in Norwich Superior Court.
