Up the Thames on the USS Springfield

The U.S. Navy Los Angeles Class attack submarine USS Springfield, (SSN 761), passes under the Gold Star Memorial Bridge as it makes its way up the Thames River Thursday, March 8, 2012, returning to the U.S. Navy Submarine Base in Groton from what the Navy called local operations. The Springfield was built at Electric Boat in Groton and commissioned in January 1993.
