Groton police press narcotics charges

Groton – Town police arrested two residents at a Kings Highway hotel Thursday on several drug charges.

Timothy Whitfield, 41, of 112 Brandagee Ave. and Martha L. Carter, 29, of 156 Kings Highway, Room 129, each were charged with two counts of possession of narcotics, possession of hallucinogens, two counts of possession of narcotics with the intent to sell and operating a drug factory. Whitfield also faces a criminal possession of a firearm charge.

Police seized half an ounce of heroin, half an ounce of cocaine and Ecstasy.

Each is held on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London GA 10 court on Friday.
