Newport, R.I. (AP) — Police say one woman is dead and a second was injured after a shooting at a Newport business.

Lt. William Fitzgerald says the woman was pronounced dead at Franklin & Company Interiors at 11 Memorial Boulevard.

The company's website says it's an antiques and decorations store. No one answered the phone Tuesday.

A spokeswoman says the building is owned by the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum.

Fitzgerald says the injured woman was taken to Newport Hospital. He says it's unclear whether the injured woman is a victim or a suspect.

Fitzgerald says the shooting was not random and it appears that the victim knew her assailant. No names were released.

Fitzgerald says no one is in custody, but there are no "active shooters" at large in the city.
