Norwich – City police used a stun gun as they arrested a New York man Monday morning after he allegedly fought with officers during a drug arrest on Crescent Street.
Calvin N. Leacock, 31, of Manhattan, N.Y., was charged Monday with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with an arrest.
Norwich police said a concerned citizen called to report Leacock had crack cocaine on him. Police pulled Leacock over around 11 a.m. and allegedly found 10 grams of unpackaged heroin and 5 grams of crack cocaine packaged for street-level sales.
Police said Leacock fought with officers as they attempted to seize the drugs; police used a Taser to subdue Leacock. Police said no injuries were suffered.
Leacock is held on $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on Tuesday.
