The state is seeking grant applicants for its "Our Places, Our Stories" initiative that will help market the state's assets to visitors.
"Connecticut has more than 100 different organized historical and cultural societies for specific nationalities," according to a release from the state Department of Economic and Community Development. "This initiative is meant to mobilize and finance them so they can tell their stories."
The initiative complements the state's MyCTStory.com contest that invites people to tell about their favorite Connecticut experiences.
Guidelines and applications for up to $20,000 in grants are available at www.cultureandtourism.org. For information, contact Cora Murray, at cora.murray@ct.gov.
