Navy awards contracts to EB

The U.S. Navy has awarded Electric Boat two contracts worth $25.2 million to perform nuclear submarine and carrier maintenance and modernization work in Groton and Bremerton, Wash.

Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics.

Under the terms of the first contract, worth $15.4 million, Electric Boat will perform the planning, engineering and design, prefabrication and shipyard tasks required to complete a dry-docking continuous maintenance availability for the Los Angeles attack submarine USS Annapolis.

Electric Boat also was awarded $9.8 million to support nuclear submarine and carrier repair work at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Wash.
