Sewer work will result in detours in Waterford

Waterford – Police encourage commuters to avoid Old Norwich Road  on Wednesday because of sewer line excavation work at the intersection with Benham Avenue.

That intersection will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, with marked detour routes, Waterford police said in a release.

Southbound traffic to New London points will directed to use Fitzgerald Avenue to Route 32 south. Southbound traffic to Waterford points will be directed to use Old Colchester Road to Bloomingdale Road. Northbound traffic will be directed to sue Gallows Lane to Bloomingdale Road.
