Spring is a popular time for beer festivals. These events are not only a great way to sample some beers you might not have tried before, but to meet some brewers.

Here are a few of the tastings coming up:

Saturday, April 14: The Great International Beer Festival, Rhode Island Convention Center; two shows, 1-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-10 p.m.; tickets: $40.

Saturday, April 28: The Newport Craft Beer Festival, Great Friend’s Meeting House Lawn, Newport, 2-6 p.m.; tickets: $45.

Friday, May 11: Brewfest at the Beach, Ocean Beach Park, New London, 6-9 p.m.; tickets: $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
