Pink Fair at Backus to focus on women's health

Norwich – The William W. Backus Hospital will host the fourth annual Pink Fair from 3 to 6 p.m. April 25 in the hospital's main lobby conference rooms.

The free event will focus on women's health and wellness and will include free screenings, including bone densitometry and blood pressure. There also will be a celebration of Backus' recent Breast Health Center Accreditation by the American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.

Other highlights will include presentations about the Backus Breast Health Patient Navigator program; insurance options for women and families; complementary therapies available through the Backus Center for Healthcare Integration; healthy eating and nutrition; Backus surgeons; lymphedema specialists; the latest diagnostic imaging technology; palliative care; advanced directives; and Backus Home Health Care. There will also be skin cancer screenings from Advanced Dermatology starting at 4 p.m.
