Griswold - Police said a drunk 22-year-old New Hampshire man crashed his car on Interstate 395 North Thursday afternoon and fled the scene into the nearby woods.
A K-9 trooper from the state police barracks in Danielson responded to the crash and apprehended Eric D. Barcomb in the woods about a half-mile away.
Police said Barcomb, of Manchester, N.H., struck the roadway's center median divider around 5:23 p.m., causing heavy damage to the front quarter panel of his Nissan Sentra. He fled the scene, police said, and was later apprehended and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Barcomb was not injured, police said.
