UConn men to play N.C. State in Jimmy V Classic

The UConn men were invited to play in the 2012 Jimmy V Basketball Classic on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The Huskies will play North Carolina State in the second game of the ESPN doubleheader at 9 p.m. Georgetown will meet Texas in the opener at 7. It will be UConn's first appearance in the event, which helped generate $13 million last year for The V Foundation for Cancer Research.

The UConn women will also play in the event on Monday, Dec. 3 (7 p.m., ESPN2), when the Huskies play host to Maryland at either Gampel Pavilion in Storrs or the XL Center in Hartford. It will be the first meeting between the two programs.
